…2nd Life idiots and morons. Yes, that’s right, Dune is in 2nd Life and apparently House Atreides and even Maud’Dib himself are here and in the lifestyle. Really??

The photo above had me do a double take on my morning rounds the other day. In the photo is Maud’Dib and three of his slaves in various stages of training: Beginning Slave of Atreides, Slave of Atreides, and Learned Slave of Atreides.

I know 2nd Life is just that for a lot of people. A place to express themselves and explore other realities and possibilities. Having said that, when I see something like Dune in 2nd Life as some quasi Gorean, Sci-Fi, Horror lifestyle roleplay thing, all I can think and say is… Grow the fuck up!!

Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge Sci-Fi fan. I also am a huge fan of the B&D, D&S, and S&M lifestyles. When I see something like this, though, it just makes me sad that some belittle very meaningful and beautiful lifestyles in an attempt to turn them into a bullshit fantasy for their own jollies and kinks. 

In a word… Sad.
